A MESSAGE FROM PETE RIGHI Welcome to the 2009-10 School Year! We continue to pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence in academic and extra-curricular activities. RFH is the home to approximately 1000 students in grades 9-12. Our school plant is extremely well maintained, providing a safe, educationally-sound learning environment. Our school is extremely successful and performs well in every state and national assessment measure. We are quite fortunate to have motivated students, a highly supportive community, and a top quality faculty and support staff. We are proud that in 2009 we sent 98% of our graduates to post-secondary institutions. We are most proud, however, of the fact that we are constantly looking for ways in which we can improve. Our curriculum is rich and vibrant and continuously updated. Every faculty member possesses a wireless, mobile device to enhance instruction and improve student learning. Classrooms and special labs are equipped with technologies to improve instruction as well. This year our faculty will continue their second year study of brain-based research. Last year the faculty learned how the brain works and learns. This year the faculty begins to study how to implement specific strategies in their lessons to strengthen the learning of their studens. The faculty will be provided time to meet in their instructional teams. This time will be designed so that common assessments can be analyzed, lessons "tightened," and instructional strategies practiced. Our faculty members work hard to learn and improve their craft so that each of their students can reach his/her personal potential. Please navigate through our website and find out more about us. ACADEMIC Students in the Class of 2009 earned the following distinctions: •· Mean SAT scores: CR 562; Math 592; Writing 581 •· Advanced Placement Scores: 189 students tested, 326 exams administered, 84.4% Tests were 3 or higher, with 60.1% a 4 or 5.
